Longarm quilting services

Here’s something you need to know before sending your quilts

Batting:

  • The Batting must be 6-8 inches larger than the quilt top in both length and width.

  • 80/20 cotton/polyester blend Batting is available for purchase at $12 per yard.

  • You may also supply your own batting. Be sure the batting you supply is made for longarm machine quilting and is of good quality. It is important that the batting can be moved easily within a quilting frame and maintain it's stability without tearing. (We will not use Mountain Mist or Poly-Fil Batting)

Backing Fabric:

  • The backing fabric must be 6-8 inches larger than the quilt top in length and width. Please make sure to square up your backing (extra fee will be applied to prep your backing, ex. cut to size, piecing, pressing, etc.)

  • The backing fabric should be squared-up and pressed. It may be a wide backing fabric or it may be a pieced backing.

  • If it is a pieced backing the seams should run horizontally or from left to right across the quilt. All selvedges should be removed from the seams of the pieced backing. Press the seams open or in one direction. It reduces the risk of puckers on the back of the quilt.

  • Bed Sheets cannot be used as backing fabric. Due to the differences in the weave and manufacture of bed sheets, they are often nightmares for thread tension being consistent throughout the quilt.

picking your quilting designs:

  • Check out of quilting Design Gallery and once you have an idea of the type of quilting you’re looking for, then click “Start Quilting” below.

  • If you know the design you want, please include that in the quilting form or say “choose for me”

  • Once we receive your quilt, I’ll start quilting right away if you pick your design. If you pick “choose for me”, I’ll email you with 2-3 design options and you get to pick from those designs as your final pick. I won’t start any quilting until you’re 100% ready.

  • When we’ve finished quilting, we’ll let you know it’s ready by sending you a final invoice, and once payment is received, we package your quilt with care and send it home!
